As many people have done and want to do, i am going down the road of making my MU from a really small 4wd into a very capable offroader. With the help of MUVIT MADNESS (MU CUSTOMISER LEGEND), we are converting my MU from a standard height of 850mm (Measured at Wheel Arches) and increasing the offroad capability dramatically. To do this we plan to: -Lift it 8" (Including Tyres) to a height of 1050mm. 3" Suspension, 2.5" Bodylift, 2.5" Tyres. -Raising Diff Clearance by 2" -Locking the Front Diff -Going From The Standard 31" Tyres To 35" Tyres (Much Better Footprint) -Lowering The Front Diff 10mm -Adding Sway Bar Disconnects -Adjusting Top And Bottom Bump Stops (Front End) -Ball Joint Flip -Extended Shock Mounts Rear -High Flow Intake -Widen Wheel Track 5" Front And Rear Stock With Suspension Lift And Modified Front End ;D

Then winter camp out the next cant wait. But by the end of the weekend his Mu is morphing into a more capable offroader with still more to come (part 2) Install front LOKKA & do diffdrop etc... For those who didnt know, it was MUVITS birthday this weekend just gone. So a HUGE appreciation and accolade to MUVIT for dedicating his whole B'day weekend to morphing my MU. Cheers muchly. ;D ;D ;D It wouldnt have been done without him. At the start of the project I was very naive as to how long the bodylift and installation of the 35s would take. I thought it would only take 3 - 4 hours. I believed that it would be a simple unbolt of the body mounts remove and cut the fan shroud, lift the body away from the chassis, and then put the new body blocks in place and bolt down and tighten. I was wrong... After we unbolted and removed side steps, bullbar, grill, and unbolted the body mounts. The difference between the old air filter and the new one (its twice the size so much better air flow) After 9 hours of solid work the bodylift was done. All but the gear stick bends Th airbox mod I havent got a finished photo of it yet but will add one soon. This is the difference between to 35s and the 31s, they look really small now lol ;D Mind you I couldnt actually drive it anywhere before the mods were done to fit them properly. Next is the installation of the 35s ;D I chose Good Year MTR Wranglers 35" and Steel Sunnies ( Different style to what you usually see) with a 25mm offset. The front bar mounts needed to be cut aswell as the rear of the front guard and the front apron. And now the finished product minus the LOKKA, diff drop, rear tow bar, flares, and front tow hooks - To Be Done At A Later Date But Will Post Results. But at the moment I am absolutely stoked with it. It drives very well and still is quite fast ie: acceleration is great. It is very high too, my girlfriend has a bit of trouble getting in and so do I and im 6 foot 4 lol ;D. Anyways Here are the pics, ENJOY I cant wait to take it out and see what she can do now. Once again thanks to MUVIT for working his birthday weekend to achieve a beautiful job. Thumbs up. ;D

You can make them sit flush with a new bracket for it but its alot of stuffing around. Plus it doesn't bother me cos soon im getting a proper bull bar.

Awesome job, did you have to do much to the gear sticks? Any pics of how they were bent? No worries about the 35's being too heavy and breaking CV's? They do look good . Andy.

Hi dasnoboarder Man no matter how many times i told him that he would snap cv's like toothpics the minute a wheel freespins he shrugged it off LOL You get that though when your super excited & nothing else matters hehehe thats why i SAS mine. After 5 cv's i'd had enough ;D With flyer not far behind either. Looks great trevor just need to get rid of the front apron & bar as the tyre will still hit it when offroading. Remind me tomorrow & i'll show you a few pics of cheesy bars that will make your mu even tougher + practical as well!! Not to mention one of the first as well. cheers muvit

VERY TRUE! and i read that.. but it dont look like he has lifted it 3inchs.. the CV angles arnt that bad.. and i was then wondering wat 3inch lift kit did he use? it only has pics of him doing and STATING he did a 2inch body lift.. THANK U !

Take a line through the center of the inner cv and extend it till it hits the stub axle assembly above the outer cv. That outer cv is roughly 4 inches in diameter and in std trim the centers would be in line. The line misses the cv by an inch or more so 2 inch radius plus one inch = 3. Thats without takeing into account the 10mm diff drop. You might of got a little more than 3 inches

THANK U ! Mate if you look at the top of the post in the seconds set of photos you can see the BIG RED shackles, so yes I have done a 3 inch suspension lift, I put the 2" shackles in and MUVITS old leafs which by memory had a 2" lift themselves but sagged down to 1". And we managed to wind 3" out of the front after the ball joint flip was done. Without a massive and stupid amount of cutting done would the 35's fit even with the body lift.

Hi there blowout, i would recomend doing a 20 mm diff drop. I have played with this myself and found that with 35mm the cv's pop out of thier housings but at 20mm everything seems to work well. I've had it in for a year or 2 now and i go pretty hard and haven't broken a cv for ages (touch wood!!!!), and thats with the bump stops cut in half!!
