Yeah, pics would be good. Is it front mount or top mount? If yours is the one Francesco mentions, then I'm guessing top mount.
I too have been planning to install an intercooler, but aside from picking up a Skyline GTS-T intercooler, I haven't done much at all! If anyone wants to buy the intercooler off me, it cost me $80 and is in OK condition (1 little ding, but I don't think it leaks at all).
Cheers! Graham

LOL ....Bruce is just pulling your leg....my knowledge of Mu's is far from great....I know lots of general information from been in this club but machanical things and me just dont go together. My contribution is more so helping maintain this forum. However there are lots of members in here who are Isuzu Gurus.
I recieved your email with the intercooler pics, I will put them up tomorrow as Im a bit pushed for time this afternoon. I will also put one up in the Australian member profile section. We have meets quit often usually David (witchdoctor) takes the lead in that department, and he is a great coach for people new at hitting the dirt. You will have to make an exception however to your 'no hilux rule' as his best mate has one (we have tried converting him).
If you have ideas for trips or would like to organize, please feel free to post something in the Australian trip section. At this stage Im not sure when our next one is, but I think its about time we did.
regards
Francesco

Cool.
What is that pic at the bottom?
Also how do you go for clearance with the bonnet / scoop?
Can we see some pics of the scoop setup?
Also I would love some details on the set up... What parts used etc
Thanks
Jimmy.

I would guess the pic at the bottom would be the motor it came off. J

Bottom pic looks to be a modified intercooler on a 3.1
What is the make and model of fan and how much did it cost? Also what switches it on?

hi guys
the bottom couple of pics are pics of a 3.1 wizzard and an rodeo custom job. i included these as i used them as a guide for my conversion.
I bought the parts from an NZ Isuzu parts department. It comes in a kit for about $595 NZD. A little expensive however it is a perfect fit for an MU, Plus a great performance gain.
the actuall intercooler kit is pulled directly off a 3.1 wizzard i have been told.
The kit contains: 1 x scoop, i x intercoooler, 1 x bonnett seal rubber, all plumbing. If any one wants any details please conatct me at d.heidke@burnettdam.com.au

The fan is a standard 10 inch thermo.
If you buy one make sure it has flat edges on two sides. This will make fitting much easier. I have no pics of the bonnett as yet because the scoop is in the shop getting painted. I will post them ASAP .

Do you notice much of a differance with the fan on or off?? Ihave done the same installation on my 2.8 with out the fan and have found that it has only increased the pulling power a little. Thanks.

hi iwas just wondering and this might be pure madness but if i was to fit a top mount intercooler off a trooper to my 4jb1 and then fit a front mount before the turbo would there be any point. id like an inter cooler and the top mount sounds easy enough to fit but would pre turbo cooling help or would the heat generated by the turbo compression defeat the purpose. i know that from a pure performance point of view a front mount is better but would all the extra pipe work blowing the air from the turbo thru the front mount then back into the inlet not slow the air and lose pressure which is why im interested in the dual intercooler pre and post. in an ideal world id like to fit a second turbo after the front mount to re boost the air into the second intercooler but i dont think it will all fit under there so i thought that maby if i fed the air through a front mount under no pressure then into the turbo then through a top mount into the inlet i might get a few more horses over a top mount alone. any ideas not involving straight jackets....

Front precooler would make a small differance esspecialy if yours is a bighorn where the standard air intake is right above the turbo but probably not worth the effort. Easier and cheaper to fit a snorckle and take cold air from outside the engine bay Also bigger pipeing than standard
