Hi,
it seems a common problem after some time - my fuel injection pump is leaking. Have a MU 92 2.8l. Has been doing for a while but just a few drops or so but just last weekend when I wanted to go for a fishing trip the thing has been pissing Diesel out.
Any idea where I can get a new one or it may even be worth checking a used one. There were a few threads talking about power improvement if putting a bigger injection pump in. Will other models fit the MU as well? Cash is a bit of a problem - any cheap solutions???
Thanx heaps for any help!!!

I see your email ends "de" Is this Denmark or Germany? New seals is the answer. If its only leaking around the main body they can be done in place but if its leeaking by the pulley a full overhaul is needed. The seals are cheap but its not a nice job to replace them. Mine took 4 hours with $30NZ worth of parts. In NZ this came to $280 but other places quoted up to $1200 for the same job. As for where to go to get it done unfortuanatly your the only person from that locality so cant help sorry. Ring all the diesel specialists in the phone book and hope one of them is kind.

thanks heaps for your reply. well, .de is Germany but I am based at the Gold Coast and bought the MU here 2 years ago. I only know one place here - Bentley in Miami. Have not aske them yet. 1200 AUD would be too much for me at the moment.

Where is it leaking? If its around the top cover or the accelerator linkage it can be done in place. Expect the mechanic to discourage you from this idea and expect him to say no garentee if done this way when you push him. Its takes 2 to 4 hours to get the pump in and out Then they will want to give it a complete going over but this isnt always nessecsary There is a company in Hamilton advertiseing from time to time on Trade-me overhauled pumps for about $400 You would have to pay freight from NZ and labour to fit unless you can do this yourself
