Hi - what is acceptable consumption for the 3.1 Bighorn. I am getting 12litres/100 km and think that is excessive

12 is high 10 or just under is more common. Things that realy suck the juice. 1 speed. 4wds have the aerodynamics of that small outside building a lot of old houses have but noone talks about. Anything over 100kph is going to be thirsty work. 2 tyres pressure ok? also big tyres cause speedo error so your 12 might realy be better than that but also ecconomy realy suffers in a 3.1 bighorn running 33 or bigger tyres. Dont know why as the 2.8 hardly notices. 3 autos are worse than manuals but if the lock up converter isnt working correctly then its even worse. Then theres the usual mechanical faults that are common to every car on the road

1. Fuel consumption has gone through the roof one the first tank since fitting the snorkel. Is this normal? 2. How do you tell if the lock up torque convert is working, or even if you have one?

Fuel consumption shouldnt change at all but a lot of people report improvements. One thing that mine was sensitve to was moisture getting down the snorkle and wetting the paper filter which cuts down there flow terribly and drying them doesnt always work. Fitting a foam filter from finer filters fixed this KNs or similar would also work. Also did you do any mods to your airbox that might of restricted things. Lock up converter sort of feels like changing into a 5th gear after which the tacko sits rock steady to vehicle speed not changeing with load.
