Probably the only canberra person on here but still wondering if anyone knows a decent 4wd mechanic in canberra preferably on the north side ie belconnen.
Just got the MU in the last few months and wouldnt mind getting a few things looked at
If they have heard about the MU then that would be a bonus too
Cheers,
Rob

Hey Rob, I've just got an MU and was wondering the same thing. I've been told that Hume Off Road is good but I'm trying to get the Isuzu (truck) Service Centre in Queanbeyan to have a look at mine because I know that a diesel mechanic knows diesels, the suspension is a different story. I haven't seen too many MUs in Canberra. I was hunting around for ages before I found mine in Victoria and brought it up. Let me know if you find someone that knows MUs. emu

Let us know how you get on with the diesel mechanical stuff - I have got a Rodeo with 4JB1-T that could use having its injectors & pump serviced. Was going to get it looked at by Queanbeyan Diesels, but am kind of nervous about how they charge - people I have spoken to say they do a good job but are a bit expensive. As far as suspension & steering go, I have used Pedders at Phillip a few time and found them quite reasonable - as the MU running gear is basically the same as the Rodeo they could be worth checking out

Thanks for your advice Nig. I'm completely new to 4wding. I slowly destroyed my last two 2wd vehicles by taking them where they weren't designed to go. So I've had bugger all to do with diesels but I'll let you know where I get the MU serviced and how everything goes.

I got mine in sydney from someone on the forum, great truck really looked after well plus had a lot of work done to it
Saw one MU for sale in canberra on allclassifieds for 7000 but didnt sound like it had anything done to it which sounded a bit scary, thought it better off spending a bit more and get one thats been looked after well and has a lot more done to it
My current commodore has taken a bit of a beating from some of the spots ive taken it to fishing and so on hence why i thought i should probably get a 4wd.
