Hi Here's a pic of the A-arm after i had it re-bent & powder coated: The finished lower arm brackets & A-arm mounts: Here's the new 720x15mm thick coils against the 610 ones the reason being because it sat too low at the front even before the bull bar was fitted: The assembled finished front end minus bullbar of coarse: Then i thought i'd take a wheel back off & see how the spring unloads, with the rotor resting an inch off the ground & the high lift at max i like the way things are looking for the travel side of things ;D Now to build a make-shift ramp outside so i can flex it up properly so as to post the final pics & of coarse measure the distances for the new shocks.. Tuff dogs of coarse cheers muvit

BTW... What high is the MUTROLL now??? Hi fly3r From the ground to the transfer case bash plate its smack bang on 2'. & from the ground to the top of the wheel arch it's 4'2" or 126cm but coils will settle a bit also. in saying that i have a sneaky suspicion that the headlights may pose a threat for engineering due to their height?. cheers muvit

All up that is just over a 12 inch lift. Very nice work I dont remember any details on the driveshafts. This is where a lot of other people doing SAS conversions have had trouble esspecialy the front one.

A few people have got around it in hiluxes & suchlike by setting a pair of low-beam only lights into the bullbar and disconnecting the low beams from the standard position light

This is where a lot of other people doing SAS conversions have had trouble esspecialy the front one. Hi alan There shouldn't be any real issues with the front shaft as i'll use KC&DR DRIVETRAINS again as they seem to be the gurus & know their stuff. Although at a hefty price as the rear set me back $1150. the only issue i have will be the clearance from the A-link to the shaft on drivers side articulation but still will be do-able. I'll utilize another double-cardin joint & something resembling the original front mu shaft. hopefully i can get glen from KC&DR DRIVETRAINS to have a squizz at it as he did in the rear to shed some light on it.& of course do some measuring. I didn't come this far to be beat, it's just another problem that needs to be pondered over a drink or two cheers muvit

Well hi there all . just thought i'd update some stuff as i'm still fine tuning everything to get max flex but it seems like i'm going backwards should be picking up my front shaft tomorrow, I'll post a pic when i have it. Although i finally got it to the stage where i purchased my rear tough dog 45mm 9way adjustable big bore shocks. man these babes are like mini cannons... compared to my original shock they have a compression of 600mm & a drop out to 875mm as opposed to the 500mm drop out on the stockers... To achieve the 600 compressed i removed & relocated the shock mounts half way up the banjo (axle tube) & in 2" which in turn gave me more ground clearance at each end were the original mounts where. Also i removed the coil perches & re-welded them on a greater angle to alleviate some of the pinion angle. In other words my coils are straight & not like a banana. Then i made another ramp using my old torsion bars, (I knew they were good for something) The ramp is 2m long by 1m high giving me a ramp index of . anyway i still have to work on the front issues E.G bumpstops, coils AGAIN. because the inside wall of the tyre is scraping the side of the top coil perch, because of its flex which in turn is stopping me going higher up the ramp but i will get there it is an improvement from the first final flex pics but once i've sorted the front out should be able to go higher again?, see what you reckon: As you can see it's an improvement but i know there's still more to give where the front tyre in the shot it's resting on the corner of the coil perch & hasn't even begun to reach it's full potential of upward compression. I'll be welding the top shock mounts in place over the weekend hence finishing the rear off then i'll attack the front issues which comprise of another mod on the A-link arm to accommodate the tailshaft not hitting it on drivers side compression.also the issues of tyre hitting the perches etc.. then finish the exhaust system & make a new thread for that & finally the handbrake set up. Then hopefully it's of to the certifiers me thinks cheers muvit

mate thats impessive wagon ah you can always apeciate a wagon more if the owner has done most of the work them selves rather then fork out massive dollars (which looks you are doing as well) just to pay some guy to do it

Hi all well after adding up my box of receipts the total cost including both diffs is.................... $11,120.58 excluding alcohol of coarse ;D which now brings the cost of my fourby to $20,000 unsure if i'll insure it for that price though as it only comes out on weekends I think its money well spent but the missus has other words to say about it .... Anyway its time to play. you can check out both flyer & i putting our trucks through there paces in our weeks worth of 4wd madness starting with vineyard pics etc.etc. hope you guys enjoy each trip report. appologies upfront if they're to long. cheers muvit

Thats only the price of the parts. You probably dont want to put a $ figure on the labour but how many hours went into it. You have a unique truck now that should handle anything you can through at it and it looks good
