Hi well its been a good 8 months & i've been busy pouring my hard earned dosh into my project to get it to the stage its at now & rest-assure it would have cost around the 9g mark easy. the exact figure i will post when its on the road & certified? after all reciepts are added up .
anyways my method to this madness was to incorporate some of the best running gear under such a mad looking swb 4wd & make it into a capable machine. like Yarno & HIMUZULUX has done. which i take my hat off too them now that i've embarked down the same path. oh the countless hours of number crunching grinding/welding/cutting/cleaning/assembling etc.... but all fun when it comes together.
i'll just post the core photos as there is to many but these will tell the story?. ;D ;D
these are my patroll difs fully rebuilt right down to the seal kits in the calipers running a 4.8 crown wheel & pinion fully powder coated in blaze blue & flame red which is as close as i could get it to the mu (radiant)red. i liked the colour scheme between the two.
this is the pressing for the coils & various other metals for the panhard & trailing arms etc..
I used the existing bumpstop mounts to centre the pressing then attached it using all three holes.
now for the lower control arm brackets thanks to bbm motorsports:
Now the upper control arm brackets:
Now to determine & cut the lengths of the upper & lower arms (note i used 4130grade high tensile tube for the lower arms) as that is whats used in the comp trucks & needs to be pre-heated prior to any welding. the two smaller tubes on either ends are the poxy standard patroll arms yes its tough
completed rear minus tailshaft & shocks on 36" super swamper IROKS
just fits thru garage door height at ride height
;D ;D ;D
