Hi Guys and Gals,
Just purchased a 2002 Jackaroo Equipe. Its ALL Black with all the good bits fitted including nice big rims and tyres. Looks like my Black MU on steroids!!!
I would appreciate any info on Mechanical or other problems that may occur with this vehicle. I know what the MU does but not alot on the Jackaroo. Its a 3.0TD with Auto.
Thanks Geoff in West OZ

Is it like this one? www.autoweb.com.au/cms/A_55060/newsarticle.htmlVery nice. The 3.0 motor was an issue but was suposidly fixed at the end of 2000 so all should be well there but remember to be fanatical with the oil changes and use 5w40 oil and you will have that car for very mant years. Everything else is pretty much tryed and true so if you have a mu then its all much the same except for a slightly newer modle gearbox. Do you still have the Mu cause your going to hate scratching somthing so new and shiney off road but in a year or 2 it will be as good as everyone elses 4wd

Thanks Geeves and Bruce,
Yep been very efficient with 5000 ks oil changes on the MU so wouldnt want to be any different on the Jackaroo and it does have a good service history. It is similar to the one in the review Geeves but has bigger tyres that only just sit under the rims. It has Sidesteps, Nudge bar and Reese Hitch as well so its ready for anything nearly. It even has reversing sensors fitted!!!! Just needs a heap of Amateur Radios fitted!!
Bruce the MU is a 3.1TD so will certainly keep you up to date on differences in the vehicles. I love the MU and the wife drives it to work now. 730ks out of a tank all day every day around Perth!!
Thanks for the quick reply guys.
Cheers Geoff
