Hi mate, I saw a pic of your truck and liked the bullbar on it. I like it.. I'm currently trying to find something similar to replace my rusting out original bullbar (which is like cheap tin wrapped in plastic coat, as such poor quality). I was wondering if you could either tell me who the manufacturer is? Or perhaps where it was supplied from? Odds are that I can not get one for a decent price considering that I would need to get it shipped to the UK to fit my Frontera, as such, could you possibly get me a dozen or so pics of it from different angles? (in Hi-Res) If possible I'll get one custom made for me... Would definitely like to see how it's mounted up to the chassis if this is at all possible, because that's one of the hardest bits to work out. If anyone else has similar bullbars, particularly for winch mounting could they please drop a pic in this thread for me? I'd be interested in seeing what's available. My truck is a 1993/4 Frontera (now with a 2.8 TDI Isuzu engine) I'm an Aussie from the Hunter Valley (NSW) who is currently trapped in the UK.. Also a member on DownUnder4x4.net Cheers, Si A couple of pics of my truck for you: (Taken in Jan 08) (just before it got very dirty, Sept 07 (just before 2-3" suspension lift))

I bet that I am wrong but it could be a Rodeo bullbar, TJM or opposite lock brand? I have an alloy rodeo winch bar that fixed straight onto mine the Fronteras might be different mounts. This is an ARB one www.arb.com.au/Holden_Isuzu/holden-jackaroo.jpg

I know my bull bar is the same as Muvits... so if your happy with some pics of mine u can have them. This is a custom bull bar I think from ECB (east coast bullbars) Muvit helped make the mounts out of 10mm steel and they use the stock chassi mounts that the nudge bar was on. I don't kno anything about the frontera setup. but shoul be simila Here are some pics, if you have any questions.... BTW I usually do have spots in there... Muvit might have a little bit more info for u...

Wow, 30 views, no replies.. Muvit, noticed you've got the same bar.. Able to tell me anything about it? Cheers, Si Hi si My bar is definatly not the same. As mine is a e.c.b bar (eastcoast bar) & they have been discontinued almost 2years ago now. But if your handy with metal make one up yourself even better if you can access a pipe bender make a cheesy bar up as these are all the rage now with winch mountings very simple to mfg. If you want some ideas just look at my trip report of zigzag with onall4s as the majority of there trucks have bars done . Even a cheesy bar in one of the pics thats the one that looks like its smiling at you ;D Why buy one & pay through the sky for a brand name when you can fab it up urself just my 2c hope it helps in the decision.... cheers muvit

Hi Muvit, Thanks mate.. not a fan of the cheesy bar mate Prefer the look of the bar you have, or similar the ARB bar... If I can get all the right piccies then I'll have a go at manufacturing one up if needs be, but I'll definitely try to get one that's pre-fab first as it's a lot less screwing about tbh. I do like the piccies of your truck.. We've got a guy here in the UK who's got a Frontera with a Hilux front end, it's about as high up as yours as well.. and some huge amount of travel.. Love it, but can't be bothered to do it as I'm not that extreme minded And besides that the ANTI-4x4-Brigade in the UK has major clout with the weak ineffectual government and if they want to remove any more of my civil liberties I know that I'll be returning home sooner than I planned (and I unfortunately work for the barstewards!) As such the general amount of 4x4 usage in this country is on what's called "green lanes" which is a slang term for BYWAYS, and they tend to be dog walking tracks and horse riding type trails.. and they are not very extreme at all unfortunately. If you want to do extreme you have to go to a P&P (Pay and Play) site where you can do what you want within reason, best places to do this are the old quarries... But it's not as much fun as taking off up the Wattagans and finding the out of the way places like that.. or driving around on the old mining sites at the back of Cessnock or Singleton behind the army barracks and training areas... so much more fun in all that! (gawd I miss home now!) Flyer, thanks very much for the piccies.. Don't suppose you have them stored on your computer in even higher resolution do you? Are you able to get any piccies of behind the bar to show any supports, structural mountings behind the C section and the mounting points at all? Sorry, I know that's a big ask, but tell you what, that bar does look the biz and if I made one up I could get it powder coated and it'd be spot on! If Francesco gets the opportunity (or anyone else with an ARB bar) perhaps they could post up similar pics so I can see the differences?) unfortunately the ARB website has a picture so small it's not funny... Anyway, Many thanks thusfar folks, Cheers, Si

Thanks for the pics pissy, I guess that really shows up how much narrower the front of the Rodeo is without the flared out arches. However I guess that gives me a good start to know that I can look at the equivalent Vauxhall Bravo ute here, which is a Rodeo in all but name.. Did it bolt straight on or did you need to make modifications to it? Si

Hey don't slate the UK tracks that much Try www.muddyfronteras.co.uk they go all over, and there's a reason I'm putting a lift and simex on my truck As for bumpers, I bought a winch bumper for my Monterey off ebay, it came off a frontera since they are basically the same vehicle (Trooper chassis) the MU I've got is going to be getting a steel bumper of some decription, I'll probably use the bumper off the monterey as a pattern. If you wanna do some fun laning, have a look on youtube for stanage edge - that's the lane I can see from the living room window, also another one called chaplegate, I put the monterey on it's side on that one and was still driving forwards I'm getting the MU prepped up for that lane specifically, it's going to need some kinda external cage to get away with no damage (and detachable wing mirrors) Have a look on itocuk.co.uk as well, there's a few frontera owners on there, if you do go on, say hello, my usernames the same Oh the easiest way to mount a bumper, if you look under the front of your frontera, you'll see that there's 2 vertical bars going up from the end of the front cross member. Get a scrap bumper, cut these off and use them as the starting point for welding

Hi Dx, Don't worry, I don't slate the UK's green lanes I enjoy driving the lanes, but what I said was that they are not nearly as extreme as the National Park roads in Australia, many of which I drove years ago.. Check out my videos (in my signature) on Youtube. Loads of my vids from laning and P&P days. I thought I might have seen your username about on forums over here. I'm from www.FronteraOwners.co.uk forum, my username on there and on a few other forums is rangaKoo Cheers, Si

It was a straight bolt on, however I only got it as it was advertised as having universal mounts. I have NO idea what that meant but I took the chance and bought it on Ebay locally for $200 pick up,.......I thought It was too good to not at least try and luckly for me it fits near perfectly,.......slighly narrow.

pissy, brilliant that it did fit mate No worries about being slightly narrow, to be honest it still looks the part and obviously does the job it's intended to do Bruce, nice looking truck there mate. That doesn't look half bad for a hybrid bar, hehe, nice TJM base giving the strength with the alloy or chrome bit on top, not a bad match.. I do like the TJM bumper section... hmmm.. Got one of the guys on the Frontera Owners Group (another of the moderators) who's brilliant with CAD and he's trying to mock something up from the photos you guys have kindly provided. The only problem we ARE having is trying to work out the mountings for the back of it, and any sections of strengthening that are behind the bumper section (because like most people they don't take pics of the inside of bullbars) you guys have only got frontal pics or side pics. I don't suppose anyone has a pic of the rear (mounting section) of one of these bullbars do they? or is there anyone game enough to unbolt theirs and take any pics? (I know that's a big ask, but hey, gives you the chance to clean the crud out the bottom of the radiator fins from the last time you were out playing in deep muddy water!) Do any of these bolt / fit straight in to the end of the chassis rails? (cos I've noticed that my original Frontera bullbar is only held on by TWO bolts on each side (four total) which is not something I'd like to mount a possible winch bumper on... Si

Hi Justin yep MTZ are good, just don't seem to get to use them for what they are made for much these days. Hi Si the top bar, which is stainless steel, was the original nudge bar cut and welded to a plate and bolted to TJM bar. I got the bar cheap as it sticks out about 3 to 4 inch than the norm. Cheers Bruce.

Fantastic mate.. not a bad mix at all to be honest.
Do you know what the TJM reference for that bumper is? Perhaps I could buy one of those and weld on the bits that will make it what I want???
