I have a 94 MU with a sunroof and want to work out why it creates so much wind noise. I have detached the windup and clip part but have not worked out how to get the front hinged part free - Does anyone know please?

wen you have unclipped it from the wind up part, lift it up and pull it towards the back of the truck it should slide out

Hi Tony, mudslinger is right. I took mine out last week. It was stuck and I was scared of breaking something, wondering if I was doing right. Just make sure you slide it evenly backwards from both hinges and it wont break anything. Probably a good idea to make sure your drain holes are clear while its out, overflows can get messy when the seals are old.

OK guys I've got it - As you pull it backwards it has to be lifted in a curving upwards motion. The "hinge", if you can call it that, is shaped like the curved prongs of a fork. TIP - Removing one of these from the glass and then trying it in the roof slot was very stiff so I cleaned and car waxed the 2 forks and slots and they slide in much easier now. I used a small flexible steel rule with the rag round it to get inside the slot. You have to hold the large flat spring down as you do it. Note the 4 holes round the roof channel when the glass is off - ensure they are not blocked. tubes from them must allow rain to go down via the head lining!
