Just thought i'd share some pics of my Mu getting bogged on my uncles property at Oberon a few weeks back. It's times like these i wish i had a LSD: three wheels were on dry land. The front left and rear right were spinning And whilst doing a bit of night driving and feeling a little tipsy, i failed to see a bundle of fence wire It ripped off my mud flap and the inner plastic guard I had to wait until morning to deal with this one.

Nice work.
The LSD does solve alot of problems and a Lokka even more.

Great pics and good to see it used as Mr Isuzu intended. I will have to coment though on the description "bit of night driving and feeling a little tipsy" Club rules have a very stronly worded section on drinking and driving. Now you know the reason why.

My apologies, just one of those random moments in a fairly controlled environment. But, best way to learn is from your mistakes (unfortunately)

I might add aswell that since i don't have a front tow hook on the Mu, i reluctantly hooked a strap to the b/bar to be pulled out. I was surprised at how tuff the stock bar really is. Not only did i have to be pulled from the mud, but the steep hill on the other side was stopping me from driving up without being towed. To Do List: buy tow hooks(front/back) & diff lokka

A good lsd or lokka makes a heap of difference, and you can drive out of a lot of situations after you fit them. But doesn't matter what traction aids you have, its possible to misread a piece of ground and get stuck very easily at times - most of us do. And we all make turkeys of ourselves from time to time, but its just part of the fun. I got stuck once in a deeply rutted West Coast track - radioed the guy up front to come back and tow me, then got out and opened up backdoor to find strop. Busy unloading the boot but unknown to me he'd already reversed back and connected his strop. As I stood there with armloads of gear there was a mighty lurch and a roar and my truck took off up the track heading in the general direction of Christchurch - with all doors flapping and no-one in it!! Fortunately it stayed in the ruts! I won a club award for that particular recovery.......
The only people who never get stuck are those who are not testing the limits of their vehicles - or themselves. Good to leave the grog out of the picture though - no clubs allow booze near any 4wd trip.

Quite right - should have been the other bloke. I think they were being kind to him as he was a learner, and one very embarrassed chappie. The award was called the 'Greatest Display of Confidence Award' for allowing someone else to tow my truck, even though I was standing behind it holding a boxful of groceries at the time. Everyone else was beside themselves with laughter - happily at my expense... Haven't seen much of the bloke since then.

We have a similar trophy for the best told story true or otherwise As you can imagine it is a std plaque with a greeny brown lump in the middle. The greeny brown lump is a good likeness of the real thing but made in plastic. I hope you didnt scare him off. Did anyone get photos?

No photos but the bloke disappeared - he had imported one of those soft top mitsis and it did not prove very durable, so he quit. I was however quite guilty of another misdemeanour 2-3 years back. Was leading a club trip in central otago and gave the group a few pointers on safer driving before departing - then climbed into my truck and promptly reversed over a good size tree - snapped it like a carrot. Mild embarrassment as the campground lady comes up, and I'm standing there trying to look inconspicuous with a 9 foot tree. Much laughter - still it keeps us humble..
