Hi
just came back from a relaxed Sunday trip to the mountains and realised on the way back that I can not change gears anymore. Great! Was not easy to drive the MU 80 ks back. However, it seems the clutch is not working at all. I hope it is just the clutchwire as it was apparently working when the problem started but totally failed by the time I came home.
I had the gear box pulled to pieces 3 month ago and realised the clutch was a bit worn out but could not be bothered. Was not smart enough to bring it all back together, so I do not wanna spend too much time again.
Anyone ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it???
Thanks... : )

Im guessing this is manual and the clutch has failed engaged. I.E if starting in gear with clutch pressed then car moves forward. This is easy you have most likly got a bad seal in either the clutch slave or master cylinder. Have a look at the fluid leval in the resivoir This is likly to be empty in which case have a look at the slave cylinder first for any leaks then look at the end of the linkage for the clutch pedle for the same. If no obvious leaks then get someone to press the clutch while you look at the linkage on the slave cylinder from underneath. If there is normal movment then somthing has failed in the actual clutch which means gearbox out etc. More likly is that there is almost no movment at this point which points at one of the above seals. Seal kits are very cheap but the complete cylinders on mine only cost 32 for the slave and 65 for the master ay BNT in Wellington.
