Anyone know the codes for a radiator hose kit for the 4JB1T?
I am guessing it is the same as the Rodeo kit but thought I would check.
Also while I am replacing the hoses and belts is there anything else that might be getting perished and not noticed?

Didnt know you could buy them as one kit but if so its a good idea as some hoses are quite hidden. Some hoses can be done easily with straight hose but some are not so easy. Rodeo would most likly be the same. Some people have made up hose kits from the mix and match bin at repco but price the hoses first at the holden dealer Some are cheap some are very not. Apart from hoses and belts and regular maint items not much to do. Expect to spend a whole weekend on the hoses as some dismantalling is needed to get at some of them

The 4 round the back of the engine, the bypss hose behind the air con, the 2 pipes that run from the front of the engine to the rear between the inlet manifold and the heater and oil cooler connections.(it was one of these that saw my wagon go home on a tow truck) The feed and return to the turbo. Any others I dont know about yet or have missed. The Mu might be easier than the bighorn but you need double jointed gorrila arms with skinney fingers for the heater pipes and the oil cooler pipes.

Hi,
I have just blown one of those hard to get to hoses on my 92 MU, the bottom hose under the oil filter. You are not wrong about the special apendages required to reach this mongrel.
Has anyone got any tips or special shaped multies/pliers to get to the clips. Or do I have to attack from the top, by removing the oil filter. The clips are facing down so I guess that it should be removed from underneath but I have had no luck with the tools I have.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jace

Filter off gives much more room to the filter end. The end behind the block is a little harder. When I did mine I ended up getting my Neibour who is a mechanic at a Ford franchise and a skinny Asian to help. He was able to undo the spring clamp that I couldnt even touch without breaking my arm in 2 places first. The other way is to remove both hoses on that side and also the 2 hoses on the other side then wit a 12 or 14mm? spanner undo the 2 bolts that hold the suporting bracket to the rear of the engine and remove as a complete assembly. Bonnet might have to come off for more room. Only other choise is to replace both hoses completly to the other side of this bracket in straight hose Works ok but looks ugly

Thankyou Geeves, I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to be an easy fix.
I'm off to find a double jointed, skinny armed person with a finger grip of a gorilla, wish me luck.
Thanks for your help Geeves.
