I have a '95 3.1, driving down road, and 1st ,2nd, and 3rd gear all feel good but it won't change into 4th or 5th. Intermittently changes into 4th or 5th for a few seconds when at 80km/hr before dropping out again.
Has anyone got any ideas?

The temperature needs to be up a little before it will engage overdrive. Most mornings, this means I don't get OD until after 1km of driving. Just don't try to do highway speeds too soon on cold mornings!  Someone had a faulty temp sensor on their auto box so it would never engage OD, might be the same for you. I'm not sure where to look for this item or if it's a mechanic only type thing. Maybe do a search through the old posts for a similar thread because I think it was on this board that the topic came up. Cheers, Graham. |
