O yea, sounds good.
The truck goes better on passing lanes, keeps its speed up much better rather than slowely dying down as it climbs hills.
Not much more acceleration/power but I am looking into advancing my fuel injection timing and think I might have a play with the fuel adjustment screw on the back of the pump.
Hopefully when the fuel is adjusted, the benefits of the turbo, intercooler and boost will be fully unleashed.
Still can't do my exhaust as I haven't done the body lift.
But it IS in the cards. Have been in contact with a certifier, have ordered my new leaf springs, was in contact with Steve from 4wdStuff.co.nz for a 2" body lift kit, but have lost email connection, will have to give him a call.

Just keep in mind the windscreen washers, and that it's not only the flat top layer of bonnet that needs to be cut, some of the ribbing needs to be cut or drilled as well (sometimes right on a curved section, which makes drilling interesting).

I looked at the pajero setup a while ago. The scoop on its own is much smaller than the intercooler so wont work as well on its own but with a fan it should be ok. A better way would be to use the pajero intercooler as well as the scoop would fit. However the pipework would have to be custom made. The pajero has a nice intercooler core. Some Hyundais have an identical one as well

Nice job. The cooler looks the goods.
I put the fan on top of mine and a water mister for slow speed work and it seems to work well.

I see you used a 9" fan, would a 10" (overlaps a bit) give much more airflow? Don't think I'll do the water spray, do you think it makes much difference? Maybe a job for when I run out of big ideas ;D . Anyone have any thoughts on whether putting the fan above or below the cooler is better for performance? If above is better, can it fit without a body lift? Cheers, Andy.

The 10" did overlap and I thought that because the air had the option of running off around the core that it would reduce the pressure and thus the cooling. Could be a bad theory though.
I cannot see how you could fit the fan below and leave any room for the air to flow to/from as the core only sits a small bit off the engine.
I already had a 2" body lift in mine and from the fit I would think it is necessary to fit a fan.

Thanks mate, I think I'll try the 9", on top. I'll check how much room mine has and see if I need the lift first .

Just an update the awesome noise I was talking about has almost gone now that the cooler has been on for a while.
Filled up with oil vapours maybe? (Even though I have the breather kit...).

Hey mate, they charged me $120 to clean it up, remove the tatty stickers and paint it. I don't think they did any sanding or priming, just painted over the factory white paint.
Gutted your intercooler got lost ay... It's not like it's an easy box to misplace. Better luck for the next one!
Andy.

have you thought about painting it yourself? i did mine and im no painter, i scrubbed all the factory clear and colour paint off till i got to plastic/primer then i primed it and sanded it with wet and dry like it says on the can, my paint i got mixed and sprayed it with out gravity feed spray gun, but my mate got his mixed and put into a spray can at resene paints i think it was, he was happy with the job and it looked all good, one thing to remember is using the paint code from your firewall is good but your bonnet may have faded abit, if you have time unbolt your spare wheel bracket and compare it to your bonnet.

I have fitted my MU with an intercooler and scoop as well.Ive got a K&N pod filter and snorkel to increase cold air flow.Is it still advisable to install fan on top of the intercooler?

Apparantly it does make a difference. I haven't done mine as I'm waiting until I do the body lift. Not so much at motorway speeds, but when 4wheeling, through tracks and sand dunes, it's meant to make a big difference to temperatures, and therefore power.

it would be good if the fan is located underneath the intercooler having a reverse setting to suck out air from the outside and if it is fitted on top it would also restrict the airflow through the scoop, what do you reckon?

That would depend on room and the design of the fan. Some fans work better in one direction than the other

I've got mine on top, either or would be a benifit, but i think it would be alot of hassel to mount one underneath though.
