Is there a noticable sound difference between the 2.5" & 3"? (pitch, volume)

I got the dump pipe installed today. Didn't get as much power as i thought i would. I had a look when i got home and the new pipework doesn't bolt onto the turbo. There is about 30-40cm of the original pipe before the new one starts. Does this sound right? Maybe he couldn't be bothered fiddling around in the tight space there... i dunno. There is a bit of difference, mostly top-end power, it seems to rev a bit harder too.

Then it is not a dump pipe. Sounds like it is from the dump pipe back.
From stock there is cast steel bolted onto the turbo with the warm up diaphram valve thingy on it. All this is removed with the dump pipe fitted.
I will try to take a picture of mine today

Hi Daniel - fitting bigbore is useful but not the most effective way to increase kw. Best way in my experience is to advance diesel pump timing and increase fuel delivery - see other posts on this. This costs very little - about 1 hours work from good diesel shop. Then if you need add a good filter e.g. K&N as well and you will have good kw increase. It is noted there is a compound effect when you do all these steps together.
Cheers Mike

It was difficult to get a pic of it due to the intercooler being in the road. I took this one from underneath. It shows the dump pipe curving to connect with the turbo. The old cast iron dump pipe had to be gas axed off! It took quite a while to get it to curve smoothly around where you need to access the oil filter. Jimmy
