Has anyone done a diff drop in a 1998 3.1 bighorn or similar? I think 20mm is possible which will give more up travel and help reduce cv angles after cranking the torsion bars?
I have a 50mm lift in the back with the front wound. I want to try and get some better angles for the cv's while allowing for a change from 32" to 33" tyres.
Also has anyone done a bodylift on a similar model? I am concerned about upseting the airbags.....
What do you think?

The later bighorns like yours (ubs73 also ubs69) have longer front axles so the angles are not as bad as the Mu and ubs55 bighorn. 50mm is unlikely to cause problems. Ive only ever heard of one cv breakage on a 92 or later bighorn. Changing the location of the diff does nothing for travel It only protects the cv joints. Your travel is controlled by the upper and lower bump stops which can be trimmed but a ball joint flip also achieves this by relocting how the upper A arm sits between the stops. With airbag fitted vehicles you are entering a minefield when talking body and suspension mods. Technicaly all body lifts need to be certified so bite the bullet early and talk to a certifier in your area before doing anything He will tell you what you can and cant do and a lot of advise on how. The good part is that if you decide its too hard then this advise is free.

Not sure what 98 bighorn diff brackets look like but probably not much difference than my 94 Mu and this is what i did gave me 30mm diff drop and made cv angles better

nice looking work but It will never get a warrant. They get a little funny about welding and modding suspension parts. Not sure if a lvvta certifier will let it through either
