Hey while searching if anyone had put a Chevy V8 Diesel in a Rodeo before, found this...... myweb.cableone.net/bcanderson/trooper/AuroraSwap.htmlSome one has researched the bolt pattern on the MUs/Troopers and found that most 60 deg Chevy V8s will bolt straight up. But thats not all, you stil have engine mounts, clutch, starter motor, etc etc etc But a good thought nevertherless!! But thats not all, this guy is a tinkerer (after my own heart) and has some great ideas and results already check his whole website out!!! www.myweb.cableone.net/bcanderson/default.htmMatt ;D ;D

A lot of the us Isuzus got Chev engines from new and it looks like this might be the case with these ones The real Isuzu engines are different in the mounts and bellhousings

On the subject does anyone know if the bolt paterns are the same for 3.2l V6, 3.5l V6 and 2.8td... ??
The reason I ask is that guys in the states that have the V6's are using the bellhousing from the AR5 gearbox (which is on the new 3.5l ) and bolting a toyota r151 turbo box (from a surf) up to them... with other mods of course, then putting the twin transfer cases on it......

Geeves, if you read through you will see that he mentions that to do the swap you need a MUA5 transmission form a 2.8L Trooper or a 3.1L from a Rodeo as they have intergral bellhousings......ie thats our tranmission he is talking about!!!
Well aware that the Amigo has a chev v6, hence why I posted his findings....they might have a V6 but it is our tranmission he researched to fit the V8 into!!
But then again, we just need a surplus of Aroura V8s to drop in them....I still like the idea of a Gen III with a T700 with the tcase adapted or even the Marlin with double tcases!!!
mmmm the mind boggles, just need to win lotto and its PLAYTIME!! ;D

I did notice the MUA5 transmission and cant answer that but the diesel trooper was only released in USA with the c223 engine (2.3 liter). The petrol options were 2liter isuzu. 2.6 liter isuzu, 2.8 chev v6 or 3.1 liter chev v6 This was in the square shape Trooper and all the pictures Ive seen of these show a throttle body injection and distributer at the back of the block unlike the 3.2 liter Isuzu v6.
