I have fitted a boost controller to my turbo and am wonder what pressure other people are running in their turbos. I have dialed mine up to 12.6psi at the moment. By the way I am running a 2.8 with a top mount intercooler fitted.

With the intercooler ive read while researching it for myself that you can safely goto 14psi as long as you get it retuned properly and all of that.
Just out of curiousity did you use the I/C from a Jackeroo/Rodeo or plumb one up yourself?

I think 12psi is standard but I have heard of apparently unmoded 2.8 Irmshirs running at 14 There was a person up towards Hamilton that was running 18psi but there was a huge list of other mods as well. He put it down the 1/4 mile with a top speed of 87mph Frightened a few boy racers

87mph is about 140kph, which equates to a very low 16 second 1/4, not bad - about the same as a V6 traumatic (auto) Holden Commodore. Also puts 0-100kph in the sub-10 second area. 9.9? My 1995 Auto 3.1 MU runs around 0.9 bar which is about 12psi, so that seems to be the factory amount. I too have read that when intercooled, it is normally safe to increase the boost a bit, but the same boost with an intercooler gets more oxygen into an engine as without an intercooler (air is denser when cold) so you've already got half of the benefit. Apparently a descent exhaust will unlease 1 or 2 extra PSI of boost from the turbo, so that's what I would consider - Isuzu MU Performance buildup, STAGE 2. Ciao! Graham.

If it's an intercooler, there was some on this site earlier, I think by Stuart? If you want pics of a boost gauge install, I can try and do that for you. Cheers! Graham.

I am running 12 psi on my bighorn 3.1, on cold mornings and when I use LPG it will run up to 13 psi and seems solid there. The boost controller has also helped the turbo spool up faster and has helped lessen the lag created by doing a 2.5" exhaust from turbo back....
