My mechanic was tell me that since my truck had done over 100k I should look at having my injectors and pump service but after talkin to a injector shop decided the cost was too high. Then I was told about a lovely machine that is hooked up to the fuel system and cleans it out. Including the additive for later it cost me $280.00. The chap who did the job was stunned at the amount of wax that came out. The system was not that dirty but the wax build up was bad and since I had a dyno run two months b4 we did it again to compair...... KW was 61.5 now 64.5 Torque was 363nm now 425nm.. ;D ;D ;D I notice it on the road. I am still on my first tank since and have been using the xtra power and so far have got an extra 40km out of the tank

Here in my country...we call it Carbon Clean...exactly how namic69 said it...takes out the carbon deposits from your fuel lines including inject. nozzles, etc...some gasoline stations and injector shops have that machine here but very much cheaper than the mentioned price...depends on the engine's displacement i guess.

The outfit who did it is Autocare Ltd in Archers Rd Glenfield. The treatment itself was $225.00 incl gst.
I filled up to day and considering how I was driving I would normally get about 480km from 72 ltrs. I got 545km from 76 ltr. The next tank I will drive normally to see but am impressed with the results.

I used them 2 yrs ago for a 1700 dt astra that i had and the difference was incredible.
You should drive hard for the next week and then go back to normal driving after that - the other thing i recommend now you have cleaned it out is to use something called EDT (comes in a red bottle) you should be able to get it from Auto 1, Partmaster or some other diesel place in Aucks!

Most people use Morleys in every 3 - 4 tankfulls Morlys recomend every tankfull and even sell a contant pump to run it in continuously. Im useing Nulon diesel injector cleaner every 5 - 15 tankfulls which Warehouse have at $7 a bottle at the moment. There are many other similar product as well. These wont clean as well as carbon clean but do make a differance if used occasionaly.

My mate runs a garage in Motueka - He has a Wynns unit which replaces the fuel tank & has a pump to ensure supply and return- also has a timer which switches off the pump after set time. When we lived down there there were people who claimed similar savings.

Usually run my bighorn on Challenge - which is caltex - diesel and I think this already has cleaning additives in it - or is that just the petrol. Vortex or something. Also have heard you have to be a bit cautious using acidic fuel system cleaner too often as it can corrode injectors. Comments? Mike.

Ingredients list on the one Ive got here has no acids Mostly benzine lookalikes. First time I put some in it definatly made a differance but every other time it redices smoke at idle but little else. Mines at 180000k + jap import adjustment on the original injectors etc I only use it cause its cheap

I have used injector additives before. But I have never heard of this machine. Does anyone know where in Qld this can be done?
I am not even sure where they would hook it up...
Jimmy.

Some service centers will have the machines, will pay to ring around. Injector shops wont have the machine cos it is doing their job for 1/4 of their price. The wax build up in my fuel pump alone was massive.... Hehe am loving the extra power......... If ya see a white bighorn flash by with SPARKN on the plate it was me ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Dont even try to keep up
