any one fitted a turbo from a 4jb1 2.8 to a 4ja1 (i think) 2.5 motor  |

Yep. I have done my 4JA1 and also my mates. My 4JA1 has no intercooler but still goes great. I have even had it running with 17 pounds boost. My mates 4JA1 has the intercooler fitted and yes they both go great. I have used mine to tow my 17ft Boat. It tows very well with the extra power. The turbos are both of a 4JB1 2.8. They bolt straight on. The only mod that needs to be made is for the oil drain. I connected my drain onto the drain of the alternator vacume pump. My mates one is connected to the correct place in the sump. We drilled out the hole and tapped out the bolt holes. I don't recommend doing this unless you remove the sump as it creates a lot of aluminium shavings that you need to clear. Not something that you want to run through your motor.
