hello everybody,how many of us know the inner workings of a diesel fuel pumps?to me its a real mystery,timing fueling etc???i just got this book on diesel engine basics and its really interesting,armed with this book,its cleared alot of mystery with regards to the fuel pump inner workings, if you guys need some questions answered i wouldn't mind trying to answers them,all i know for now are the basics,hopefully in the future with more experiment/research the mod bit will come.

How is the timing advanced on the 4JG2 pump when the motor is cold?

Have a look here for some very simplified answers to VE pump operation. mebonty.monobasin.net/vepump.htmlThere are two types of advance that you need to look at to understand...auto (speed related) and cold start. Hope this helps...heaps easier than trying to type lots! All the Best Matt.
