Hi folks,
I'm an expat kiwi living in Bali and have owned an 2000 Isuzu Panther SS MPV from new. It is now getting close to 100,000 K and we have decided to keep it instead of upgrading to the newer model with the 4JA1L turbo motor. A moan that I have is that it is fairly gutless and needs extra power when overtaking and I don't want to be reving the guts out of it.
I recently came across an article in a local magazine (please do not ask me to translate) which breifly described a Panther with standard 4JA1 motor which had been fitted with a blower from a Toyota Crown. Further investigation showed that it was a SC14 supercharger from a 2.0ltr Toyota 1G-GZE engine.
I am trying to find a couple of blowers in Singapore as they are easier to get into Indonesia than from elsewhere and will be fitting one of them up to my engine when I get the time.
I'll try and find an intercooler to use in the project and intend documenting the mod.
Was wondering if anybody had helpful suggestions to make.
Cheers,
