Talking to a truck fleet operator yesterday who runs various size isuzu motors and thinks they are great - better than other comparable makes he runs.
He mentioned another driver who runs a truck with a 2.8 4JB1 (non Turbo) in it, and this motor has done more than 1,000,000ks and is still running well. I thought that was pretty far out..

That is impressive.
I know of a 70 series Landcruiser that did 1.2M but mainly long hauls across the outback.

Ive heard on a few 400000s before but that is the current record. At my current rate of milage I will be 127 when mine reaches the milion. I have heard of nissan safaries with these sorts of milages but they are twice the size of our engine and carry 12 liters of oil in the sump. Just proves the value of proper maintenance

Here in Jamaica, the Isuzu 4JB1 is referred to as "the engine that can't done"............ie. the engine that goes on forever. Just service them as you should and they will last.
