Hi Is there any benefit to either performance or ongoing wellbeing of the turbo if i was to get a blow off valve installed on my 3.1 MU??? Has anyone done this before??? I have been told these things run at reasonbly high boost and installing a blow off valve can help keep the turbo in good working order and increase its life.

You would have to install an electronic one controled from the accelerator, as the turbo diesel doesn't have a butterfly valve in the intake like on petrol cars, this is what gives a vacuum on the intake manifold causing the blow off valve to open...
don't know of anyone doing this though...

i have only seen one turbo deisel with a blow off valve...... was a patrol from memory.... but i suspect it was more for the bling factor than functionality. Because you aren't suddenly stopping boost on a deisel, it doesn't cause your turbo to basically stall, which i'm told is what a blow off does....... i don't know a lot about where/why/how a blow off works....... i can only go on assumptions based on what i have been told...... and i was told only to believe a small portion of what you hear
