My Rodeo 2.8ltr block cracked on water jacket to the passenger side of the block. Is this a common problem? Am unsure weather to rebuild or to give a new heart transplant? As the 2.8ltr is hard to find at this point have spent 9hrs on the internet trying to find info and or engines to get it back on the road . The beast is the turbo inter cooled version 4x4 was good to drive before although more power was going to be the look at soon but probable death became it.

Same engine is in every pre 91 Jackeroo with a diesel and all the diesel rodeos up to 98. Shouldn't be that hard to find. A cracked block would not be a wise choice for a rebuild If the crack isn't too bad a temp fix to get you going would be Holts ironite but its not garrenteed forever. Ive never heard of a cracked Isuzu block. Has it been overheated?. A casting fault would of shown up much earlier in the engines life.

reover heated not under my rein but i agree that it should have been picked up earlier than when it gets to 210 k on the clock. I am haveing trouble to find an replacement, so i have been contemplating the 3 ltr motor(4jg2t) or if ican find one a 6dei (v6 3ltr) i believe has been out for about a year in Japan and Europe. As for the web site i shall check it out after i log off.

Im suprised your having trouble finding one. Your email suggests your in the great land of Oz. Underneath all 4jb1 engines are the same so fully interchangeable. The only differences are that some have a gear drive for the cam instead of a belt and some are intercooled. Your intercooler will fit straight on with either your turbo or a tiny mod on the replacement engines turbo.
