Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Unichip ? Seems to be a sort of ECU replacement. Papakura Auto Electrical deal with them here in NZ, but I thought I'd do some homework before approaching them :-) www.autoelec.co.nz/wa.asp?idWebPage=6108Thanks.

Not much use to any off us on this forum unless you are running the EFI 3.0l 4DZ1 motor!! None of the others have a computer controlled FIP and hence a computer chip would be as usefull as cow teats on a golfball!!
Buuuuut for anyone out there with a Nissan purusing our far superior forum, they have fantastic results with Unichip on all their EFI diesels.!! Narvara Patrol etc!

The later 3.1 engines had electronic control of the mechanical pump 95 onwards I think They would benifit . I doubt you could get much more out of the 3.0 They already get 135 kw and 35 miles to the gallon

None of the current 3.1 motors have electronic Fuel injection and hence do not have a computer for this chip to piggy back! Probably why if you ring Unichip, they say they cannot help you!! These chips are for engines like the 4DZ1 etc that are totally electronic, cos hey, even my old 2.8 has a 'computer' but it only controls two EGR valves for emissions, no power ups there!
