the intercooler is a 3.1 bighorn intercooler same cooler as francesco used, i just never thought of using the way he did, so cut the end tank off where it goes into turbo and made a tank so the air could come straight in, but then i couldnt get it to fit cause it was still to long, so i cut the other end tank off and made a smaller tank, then i couldnt get that black plastic right angle thing on the turbo inlet so we just made a stainless pipe one to get to the air filter.. this job was done last night i still have to get a bonnet scoop from somewhere. ill check the wreckers on monday.s my friends a boat builder so we used his work and he TIG welded it all up..

yeah i should have looked at the board a bit sooner, i saw jimmys one ages ago but i couldnt work out how to turn the turbo, then i found out you cant on the 3.1... would of been a lot easier just to do it your way .. it was looking real bad there for a while we were thinking that we were going to have to make a new inlet manifold just to move it over so we could get more room.. its just a pain with the mu cause im sure the made any connecting pipe different sizes or sizes you can find silicon joiners for on purpose, the turbo inlet is such a queer size, we had to have a cone to a 2" pipe then another alloy cone to size it up again to get it to fit where it goes into the air filter pipe..
got a gated boost tap coming ill wind it up to 15PSI and turn up the fuel a little etc.. but for the life of me i cant work out how to adjust the timing on the 3.1 Mu is the pump totally different, can you turn these pumps on the brackect to advance or is there another trick?
next mission to find a bar plate intercooler same size and swap the cores. i might be the first MU in Nelson with a intercooler and scoop?

When I was at the Wreckers getting the intercooler from the Jackaroo (bighorn), I also grabbed the tubbing from the airfilter to the turbo inlet, this proved to be very time saving for me as the MU tubbing is a bit different shapped as you know.

got scoop today and cut a hole and installed it, I dont have the rubber boot that goes under the scoop and after a drive my intercooler is still really hot like its making a very good interwarmer at the moment not quite what im after.

I will post some pics of the water spray kit I did soon. It makes a massive difference to the temperature of the core. I just need to automate the spraying process with an overide switch to turn it off for high speed work.

were you thinking a thermo switch or something more technical?

A thermo switch would be good but I am not sure if it would be accurate enough. I have one from a thermo fan I mounted on the core so I might be able to use that. I know nothing about electrics though.
