I have contacted a guy here in Texas that imports engines. He told me he would import and deliver the whole front clip (door posts to bumper) from a 4jg2-t Rodeo/Mu/Wizard. Engine, tranny, t-case, front suspension, diff, all engine componants and the lot for just under $6k US. is that a good deal? This will be for my conversion, dieselrodeo.blogspot.com/Any thoughts would be great.

Most of that will be shipping. A front clip takes a lot of room in a container and will have to go through whatever quaranteen inspection is needed to enter USA . This means your importer can get 4 or 5 engines for the same freight cost. It will also need special packaging. Over here another $2000US would see a ready to drive complete car but we have companies set up to import complete cars who can fill a whole ship at a time reducing individual freight cost.

Yeah that is very expensive. I don't mind putting it on a slow boat to Corpus Christy that takes 6 months to get here. I am looking for inexpensive.
I know of a few people who can import the whole car but that also take a lot of money. ($5K-$7K)
If I spend the $5800 to buy and ship the front clip I think I can sell many of the parts to recup my costs. Body parts, the diff, suspension, right-hand drive parts, etc.

well geeves was right, the cost of shipping was about usd2000(not including hidden costs) so i think you're better off getting from your local dealer.
