I've recently fitted an intercooler on my 2.8 rodeo, its off a 3.1 bighorn. I was planning on fitting a thermo fan on the cover like umemu has done. But when i went to put the cover on today, i discovered the bonnet will not close. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what they did to overcome this problem. I was thinking of cutting a bigger hole in the bonnet and fitting another scoop, and also maybe raising the bonnet some how. All Advice would be great Thanks Dan

3.1 intercooler might be a little bigger but not much. Did you use the bighorn brackets or make custom ones.

If you fit an early model bigorn scope- wide, long and flat then it will give you heaps of room to cut a huge hole, or you could just do a body lift, or alter the mounts and lower your intercooler, but you may have trouble getting hoses to line up with the last option, i'd just do a body lift!!!

Hi Geeves, i just bolted it on, no custom mounts needed. I have the wide, fairly flat looking scoop off the bighorn, but have yet to fit it. Cheers Dan

What year was your Rodeo ??, that you fitted the intercooler too. I am going to do the same, however I am told that I will have problems rotating the turbo. 2000 Rodeo 2.

You could very well have problems with your turbo since your vechile is newer, you can rotate the ceramic turbos if you have the time and calmness and thick skin on your nuckles!!!
I am now selling body lift blocks too if anyone is interested, 15 cents per mm of shaft, plus 5mm per block and $20 labour (this is for people in the club, normally $30) eg 10 blocks at 40mm long = $87.5 plus freight.
