well its almost complete! I ended up going with the 3' calmini kit from 4wdusa from Perth. with added new Lovell HR-15 springs (not h/d). So anyways here how it all went, I started with a standard Mu: nice, but not high enough. And this is when the problems start, Torsion bars are too short (even though i check b4 i got the kit) Upper A-arms, needed 4mm spacers to get the camber right, not to happy with this one Bush kit for the upper A-arms were to long (had to replace them) Tom's One stop auto shop, in Wetheral park did the installation for me. So i left the old torsions bars in (will have to have a chat with eddy(4wd usa) to change them over or something). The add-a-leaf spring in the calmini kit i didn't put on i used the Lovell springs instead. Tire World in wetheral park took 2 hrs to do a wheel alignment (who had to make another spacer!) So she looks like this: After that i managed to get a hold of Muvit 33's and flares, went 4wding in penrith a broke my 4wd for the first time! did the tie rod on the left side thanks to ray(muvit) for lending me his for a few days till i got a replacement, most appreciated. While i was changing the wheels over managed to snap 3 nuts off my hub not happy, so im going to replace all of them this wednesday as well as another wheel alignment (i don't think they were wanting to see my 4by so soon again) So now she looks like this: All thats left is to do a 2' body lift to help fit the 33's when im articulating and turning. Speaking of which, has anybody had any problems with doing a body lift?? particlarly the gear sticks, mine is manual, or anything else that might sneak up on me??? also if u got any Q's on my lift by all means do ask! will let u know how the torsion bars go and how helpful eddy from 4wdusa will be

A 2 foot body lift should be pretty interesting. You'll need to add a couple more gear levers to your existing one and a some pipe to the hilo selector. The hole in the floor will need to be quite big too.The steering column won't reach the steering box anymore but the upside is that you'll be able to run 48" tyres with no clearance problems. But seriously with a 2" lift you will need to adjust the gearlever shape a little or it'll probably get pushed into neutral on lumpy downhills.Check the steering shaft slider still has a bit of travel leftwhen it's attached to the box. Also check the front brake pipes where they go through the holes in the inner guards. You may need to rebend the 'pigtail'in the pipes a little. That's asumming the mu is similar to the ubs55 Bighorn. Regards,Harry.

I dropped my radiator 2" to use the standard shroud and bent the gearsticks on a different angle to get them to stop hitting the body. Everything else was fine. This is what it looks like Much the same height as yours is now. Jimmy

Thanks, i new about the shroud, but wasn;t sure about the gear stick, did u change the 4wd stick aswell? or just the gear stick??
just measured minethe rear ground to guard is 985mm and front is 965, and underneath the transfer box there is 13.5 inches. these sound about right?

Both sticks needed massaging. The 4wd still needs some as I have to run the knob back to front.
Mine is 980mm ground to gaurd back and 965 front with 31's
Do you get much rubbing? I am still tossing up whether to go 33's or 32's?

Yeah i get some scrubbage on the back part of the FRont wheels, usually when articulating while turning, and its all at the bottom of the guard and some on the flares think. i didn't notice any power loss very supprised! (3.1t/d) which tyres are you thinkin of??MTR, MTZ, STT?

I have the same scrubbage problem on the front with my Bighorn during cornering & articulation. I have Simex 32x10.5x16 with 2" body lift and had to take the plastic mud shields off as the holding bolts got pulled off by the tyre. The only solution I can see is to cut the guard back. If you find a better solution I would love to hear it.

I cut the guards on my Wizard. They are easy to do as you can bolt the plastic trim back on afterwards.
Isuzumudman - what colour is you Bighorn and is its snorkel held on by hoseclips?

I have trimmed the guard on the inside and have trimmed the nudge bar mounts in the front of the tyre. After cutting the guard i then put metal primer on and sprayed them with flat black paint. here are some pics of what i've done. The only place im scrubbin now is the flares which is abit anouying. don't know what im going to do about it

My torsion bars are coming all the way from usa! will have them by the end of janurary. Eddy from 4wdusa, was very suprised i had longer torsion bar! mine are ~1200mm 47 spline instead of the supplied torsion at ~1000mm. isuzu must have changed the torsion bar lenght at 94 or something

I am thinking Maxis Bighorns or Buckshots...
Cheap and by all accounts a decent tire.

For your flairs rubbing, cut the ends to a radius or 45 degree angle to blend them into the panel work. The corner will be the worst protruding part?

Hi Justin, The Bighorn is black. They are not hose clips!! They are high tech compression bands. Ripped off the snorkel when it fell over on Thompsons Track.

There is a different kit for the 1994 MU (Amigo). Only difference I know of is the torsion bar length. Can see here: www.pureisuzu.com/89-94_amigo_3.htm

Hi Justin,
Off topic a bit but thanks anyway. Picked up another one for $20 then got a new core 2" taller in the original & it now fits properly and I don't overheat anymore (yet). So I now have a spare too.

That's an ARB bar right? Did you get one for a Rodeo? Was it hard to modify for the body lift? I want one. :-D
