ok so here it goes. my air con isnt working. and it hasnt since ive owned the car and that dosnt bother me. iv found that its just the gas has depleted. so what i was thinking of doing is removing the pump and lines to make room for a front mounted intercooler piping set up. what are your thoughts has any one had a crack at this and if so what are the negitives? aside form loosing the air con. the fans for the heater would still work wouldent they?

if you remove the air con pump you need a slave pulley to replace your air con pump to maintain the pulley set up which drives the power steering

Most people use shorter belts. The adjuster is on the power steer pump. The other option to consider is fitting a different alternator in place of the aircon so the oil pump is still on the old alternator but all the wiring goes to the new one. This allows bigger alternators than standard and gets it further from the mud. Despite it apearing to be no coolant I would still get the system purged by an auto air con shop before dismantling. If there is any left it destroys ozone at a rate on 1 gram coolant kills 6 grams ozone (because the ozone is at high altitude and very low pressure this means that the charge in an average air con will kill all the ozone over an average town). Ozone is what makes the difference between lieing in the sun all day and getting a healthy tan and walking too the letterbox and being burnt to a crisp. Also if there is any pressure in the system the coolant will freeze anything it touches when released. Otherwise its just a simple unbolting exersize

yeap i wasnt planning on letting rip with it. thanks for the advice, well i finally got my altornator sorted (the new one i had coming was second hand and we tested it and it died thank god i tried it) so i brought a new one for $640 it comes with a new charge relay set up. im thinking i might figure a way of lifting it up and mounting it where the aircon pump is. also i was curious, you know the plate of metal that the radiatior sits infront of, where the head lights are mounted (not sure of the name is it like bulk head or somthing) is it legal to cut a hole in it? if so i was thinking im going to need 2 of them in it to run my intercooler piping.
