Hi All, new guy from the USA. I have aqquired 2 4JX1 engines with the intention of replacing the gasoline powered Chrysler engines in my older houseboat. Apparently, these engines are rare in the USA. They were test stand engines at a school used mostly for shows. They have almost no hours, ran great, and look new. My problem is I can't come up with a number for the ECU/ ECM to run the electronics. When I picked up the engine ,the ECUs on the test stands came up missing before I could get them or even get the number. The wiring, etc. will be no problem as I've been an ASE Master Auto Tech and a commercial and residential electrician for many years. The bolt-up is fairly simple and the existing outdrives are well suited for this swap. I'm hoping that the guys that drive on the correct side of the road can help with a part number and maybe a source. Thanks, Dan

Only suggestion I can come up with is to get a couple from wrecks. Try www4x4isuzu.com They are in Auckland but ecus are small so freight shouldnt be a problem. Before installing these engines do a search in google on 4jx1 They are good engines but have a couple of potentialy nasty suprises to watch out for. Biggest one is the injector seals which can destroy the engine or your boat when they leak

Geeves, Thank you !!! I now have a number for ECUs for these engines and have my parts "bloodhound" on the hunt. Acy76 on 4x4wire found a complete set-up for sale on E-bay and I got the number from them. Thanks to all and if anyone is interested I'll post progress reports as I go. Thanks again, Dan
