Hi everyone, Im sure there must be some post around this forum about adjusting the timing, can someone point me to the right post cause I want to advance the timing but unsure how in my 94 mu, can someone explain procedure for doing this, I have EGR removed so i can get to the pump easier.. Also the diesel pump flow adjustment metal cover i am finding it a pain to get off is there some trick or do you just rip it off.
Cheers

got the little metal cover off, hope you dont need it cause it ended up tearing off, well adjusted it give less diesel so no big clouds of black smoke also idle is around 750rpm now not 950rpm.

I've got to do the same to mine. Have just upgraded (?) from a 1990 2.8 to a 93 3.1. It over revs by about 300rpm at idle in or out of gear (it's an auto) and the fuel consumption really sucks (instead of 300k's on $30 it was only giving me 180k). I was thinking about putting a 2.8 pump in if that was possible, but I'll have a play with the existing pump and see if I can adjust it. Thanks for your message

What's the original timing position of 3.1 MU with 4JG2 engine and how to check it? My MU is hard starting and lacks power I suspect that timing was advanced by the previous owner when they replaced the timing belt. Please help. Thanks in advance.
