Have just had enquiry re breather kits ex Christchurch for 2.8 and 3.1 motors, so here is update for those who may be interested.
Designer/manufacturer is Andy Rapsey, formerly of Church Corner Auto Parts, but now with :
Amma motors 19 Horatio Street Christchurch 03 366 0454 or 0274 379 120 a/h
4 years ago price was about $225. Current trade price ( for isuzu club also) is $245 incl GST - or $250 couriered anywhere in NZ inclusive of freight. Excellent kit now fitted to alot of 2.8s and 3.1s. Stops sump pressure which causes damage to oil seals, oil leaks etc, and cuts down blue smoke, esp on start up. Drains into dipstick tube so needs no emptying. Worked very well on my last truck. Good product.
Another option is a simple catch can product sold by Supercheap Auto for $102 retail or about $90 club price. This is an aluminium container with external glass measuring tube. You monitor the container and empty back into motor as needed.
If ordering from Andy above - mention you are from isuzu club and ask for trade price.
Cheers Mike.

Hi i've opted for the cheaper alternative which has worked a treat up till now, gone for the catch can from supercheap, hence my thread "OIL CATCH CAN WITH PICS". as i didn't want to spend the dosh on a easy mod & you can choose between a anodized red or a blue one. my 2c tho. cheers muvit

Hi - no website pics unfortunately.
Couple of advantages with the breather kit over catch cans. First it is no maintenance - fit it and forget it - just keeps doing the job indefinitely. Second point it is not just a bottle collecting excess oil. It has a baffle in it and effectively changes the breathing system for the motor. This allows it to stop pressurisation of the sump, and stop all those random oil pressure leaks which can trouble isuzus - fixed every leak on mine which impressed me, as well as draining oil back into sump and cutting down blue smoke.
Unsure if simple catch bottle would achieve this quite as well - be good to get feedback on this - improvements with pressure oil leaks/smoking etc over time from different products. If a cheaper product will do the jobs well, go for it. Be very good to know.
Cheers Mike.

I Think Blow by is directly linked to oil heat on Isuzu engines The best way to go about is to tackle the problem at bay, any comments for the best way to mount a Oil cooler?
