With regards to EGR valve - would disconnecting the Vacuum pipes to the diaphrams do the same thing??

re: EGR valve, pulling the vacuum pipes won't do anything if the EGRs are blocked open. Only plugging the manifold will.
I've put a plate on the exhaust manifold, but want to block the valves at the inlet manifold as well.

Hi Richie,
I have been running one now for a couple of months or so. I am not sure if there were power gains of any significance, but it does filter better in the dust than the paper ones.
Gobbles. I am up for a workshop.
Jimmy.

Graham i did not follow your instructions as it was so simple to do the job!!! Just 8 12mm scres/nuts/bolts is all it take s- tookme 5 minutes to undo them - unfoprrtunately i broke one of the nuts off the egr on the exhaust manifold
Pretty much all sorted now but i have a small (amazingly minor) leak fromthe manifold now (so will have to fix for WOF) but the power difference was significantly noticeable immediately - perhaps my egr system was buggered too!!

Hey guys! For a simple power increase to any diesel be it turbo or not increase the springtension in your injectors you'll gain better economy as a result too and smoother running!!! Go to truckracing specialists and you might be able to obtain some "pirated" injectors which have an enlarged injection capacity also under higher springtension which increases your injection pressure which will improve combustion efficiency and power output! This is one item many diesel mechs often overlook when doing a tune! They mainly look at pumptiming!
