hi there was jumpstarting this dude and he showed me that if u unplug the singlw wire tem sensor in the thermostate housing it opens a little solinoind on the injector pump and lets more diesel in eg giving more power i found the differance quite noticable i have just unplugged mine but you could put a switch on it earthin it out to turn it off and on but thats up to you and havnt noticed any change in fuel economy

That solinoid also advances the timing slightly so it starts easier cold. Once its slightly warm though if everything else is set right it should knock like billeo.

the knocking sound is the same as pinking in a petrol engine. It will cause higher exhaust temps and all the problems that causes
