I'm slowly getting parts sorted for my sas, but I just want to know if I can keep the isuzu rear axle and just do a soa. Are the isuzu rear axle's the same width as the hilux front axles? and will the isuzu rims fit the hilux axles?

As long as the ratios are the same all is good. A few other people have found that the hilux rear diff mounts straight to the Mu springs with no mods needed

The Isuzu wheels won't fit the Hilux diff, but Hilux rim will fit Isuzu diff. The centre of the Isuzu rim is to small to fit over the Hilux spigot.
If you are doing the SAS yourself you will find the rear easy to do, just grind off the old mounts move diff to under the springs, put old mounts in between setup pinion angle weld back on, Done.

Sounds easy but for certification the certifyer will demand all sorts of extras like welders ticket etc. Talk to the certifyer before starting. It should still be only 400 all up for cert. Anouther thought on the hilux diff is that the later 4wd ones with live axles front and rear were spring over already. This might be easier but measure everything twice

Thanks for the info guys. I was just thinking of keeping it as a way of saving money, I think i will just get a ifs surf rear axle and do a wide axle conversion on the front
