Hi folks. Have replaced the fuel filter on my 4JG2. Have pumped and bled fuel through to the pipe leading to the injector pump. Engine started and died after about a minute. Now cannot get fired again. Have plenty of fuel pressure on engine side of filter. If I undo the injectors at the cyl head will they bleed by hand pumping at the filter pump? Supposed to be leaving on holiday tomorrow....

only sugestion is to bleed again at the pump end of the line from the filter. It still sounds like air in the system . Also check you havent knocked any wires off the pump. If this fails try getting someone to turn the engine over while you loosen each injector in turn. Should see healthy squirts. (do clean up all the diesel spilt doing this before a long run It will catch fire when hot)

Thanks Jeeves. Appreciate the advice, but I ran out of time so trucked the beast off to the Diesel Doctor for a proper fix. I did not relish the thought of trying to get down under all that inter cooler gear in the time I have left before departure. Cheers Jayceenz

make sure you haven't over tightened the fuel filter - can end up causing a blokage and it's only running off the fuel which is in the filter before starving itself.

Release the fuel tank filler cap, you will find that you have a vacum in the lines, and try releasing the fuel filter off a couple of turns you will find that there is presure there causing a air lock...
