I just intercooled my 2.8 4JB1T Rodeo....... it has made some difference already without being retuned... the turbo whistle is noticeably louder, a bit more torque and it has a little more power. Anybody have an idea of an estimate of what sort of increase i can expect when it's dyno tuned? Standard they generate 72kw..... but i have changed the exhaust to straight through and removed that horribly restrictive dump pipe, and now the I/C. I'm told by some that i should be able to expect up to 25kw increase if it's tuned properly, and another 60 to 70 Nm of torque. sure would be nice!! ;D

That sounds great mate, but how did you do it?? Did you fit the Jackaroo intercooler with a bonnet scoop of the Safari infont cooler or did you make up your own kit?
I dont doubt with all those mods you will be happy with the power increase, but was that all at once or bit by bit? I find that bit by bit you dont notice the real difference because its lots of little increases. Best to jump into another standard truck so you appreciate the work you have done!!

i adapted one that i bought on ebay off a 13B rotary for $50. I made it front mount because i have air brushing on tbe bonnet that i didn't want to have to cut up ;D Each mod i noticed a difference........ just little things like when the turbo starts working, used to be about 2,500rpm...... now it starts working under 2,000. here's a couple of pics..... i know i know........ the engine bay is filthy!! i'll clean it with the gerni when i have a bit more time
