Hi guys, What engine oil are you using and why? I just had a first service and the local Holden dealership swears by Castrol RX super, then again they have never heard of a MU! I have something to say about this service and how the car runs now but I will let it sit for a while lest it colour your replies. Cheers, Andrew

I'm on my second 20 litre drum of Caltex Delo 400, semi synthetic. Most of my miles are at 110-120 on the highway every day to work and back and I dont think this oil really cuts the mustard. There is a definite difference in the way it runs, smoother etc but I have trouble getting 5000k's out of it. Thinking of going back to Penrite Diesel when I am through this drum. Havent run RX Super in the MU but ran it is my Isuzu truck, 7.0 litre engine for about 650,000 k's and whilst it did the job, it wasnt a clean oil and left scum and crud inside which didnt impress me greatly.

Dont know castrol rx but probably ok. I used Delo400 for a while but had some problems with leaks (might not be due to oil) No other problems even with nearly 200000km. Currently useing Valvolene diesel oil 10w40 Seams ok

From what I've read here and elsewhere RX super seems to be a pretty good choice of oil. It also seems to be mixed fleet so I can run my Rodeo, wifes Outback and tractors on it.
