I fitted a top mount intercooler on my 2.8, and over time oil has appeared around the turbo outlet. It seems to be seaping out around where the hose connects to the intercooler. I've had the intercooler fitted with the end tank modified so it faces directly down over the turbo outlet. The used about a 3 inch long hose connecting the two by hose clamps. Its kind of hard to pin point exactly where the leak is coming from and its starting to concern me. Anyone had the same thing happen to their turbo? Is my turbo getting damaged? Thanks Dan

Most likly blow by oil. ie coming from the breather on the tappet cover. If were talking only a small amount of oil its not worth worrying about. Best way to check would be remove the inlet pipe to the turbo and run a rag through it If covered in oil thats he problem. It can slow the turbo if theres enough oil as it will pool in the bottom of the housing but otherwise no damage and would have to be bad for that to happen. Also it can clog the intercooler. An oil catch can on the breather would be the only ecconomical fix as even fully reconed Isuzus can have high amounts of blow by. On mine the hose to the intercooler is saturated in oil and oil drips from the butterfly spindle onto the steering linkage and has done for years but the oil never needs topping up from one change to the next.

I'd agree with Geeves. This same hose has seeped oil on my Mu from the day I bought it at 110,000ks. I'm over 230,000ks now and still don't add oil between changes. This oil seepage happened both before and after fitting a top mount intercooler about 40,000ks ago. Unless you are using a noticeable amount of oil between changes, I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it.
