Hi all, just trying to get some advice about a pipe which connects from the manifold to the air filter intake on the old motor, is it necessary? Mines missing and wondering if it's worth replacing. Would this help warm the motor up quicker as it's a real pig to drive when cold?

I assume your talking about a 2 inch metalic pipe that collects hot air for faster warm up. Personaly I would leave it off but if you do a lot of short trips on cold mornings it will make a small differance. This pipe is quite cheap at repco

legend Cheers for that. I was unsure if the pipe was some sought of heat proof rubber or what the hell. I'd take a pic of the area where the pipe goes only the Trooper is away getting the big chop and re build where rust has set in.

Its a flexible aluminium pipe Very light. Also theres a valve in the intake to the aircleaner that might jam open rendering this pipe useless

Oh right Cheers for that again, I might look at getting one of those as I hope to take the Trooper into colder climates in the next year or so. Mind you, we had snow on Pirongia and TeAroha the other day!
