Hi Guys,
I rang up 4x4 accesories in North Brisbane and asked them for a new turbo for my Mu 3.1.
They say it will be $1200!!! Does anyone know of any place or any turbo that would be cheaper???

I think I paid 1500 2 years back.
It could more for labour?

That would be about right, I was quoted about that three years ago after I paid some crok $1600 for a rebuilt one, not my original.

I got mine done about a year ago and it cost 1300 installed.
Your 1200 sounds alright, are you installig it your self or getting the mech to do it for u?

if your ever thinking about intercooling your MU, going for the 3.1 bighorn turbo (whats it called in aus? jackaroo?) maybe better cause then you wouldnt have to make custom pipework down the track to fit it to the intercooler. ive heard the only difference between the bighorn and MU 3.1 turbos is the angle the outlets are on. which is why mine woudlnt line up with the intercooler. just a thought.

If the turbo off a 2.8 fits I know where there is one going cheap I know a bloke who bought a ute off trade me and got it home and found the motor was non turbo let us know prettyquick if you want it as he is selling parts to try and get his money back
