Hi to all ive had a problem with my 1994 3.1 mu. Screeming bloody belts well thats what i thought. After replacing all three belts i started it up thinking yes that noise will be gone (yeah right) still no different so i tryed beltgrip still no better . But to cut a long story short after a lot of messing around i found i had a small leak in the intake manifold the gasket was shot. Now thats been replaced no more screeching at all. The noise was very similiar almost the same as belt noise. Just somthing else to check next time you hear that awful noise.

Been there done that. A give away in my case was that the noise would change with throttle position as well as revs.
