I have a 1996 Bighorn Plaisir XS 3.1 TDi Auto. What engine does this have, and which manual should I download from the gmail inbox?

The engine model is written on the firewall inside the engine bay on a plate.

There is only one ubs.part01.rar manual file in Gmail account. Where are the others that are needed? Cheers

When creating those files I used a programme called 7zip. The originals definatly open with 7zip I think they also open ok with izark but cant remember for sure. I havnt downloaded them now to check though as I have run out of free bandwidth. Try it with 7zip which is free and let me know how it goes. If it doesnt work Ill look into it further alan

Have you looked in Gmail account recently? as can't find other UBS files to download. I'll feel stupid if they are in there and I can't see them..

They were hiding. Its a trick of the gmail system that somehow removes things from the inbox although they are still there. Not sure why but I have put them back in the inbox. If they hide again click on "all mail"

Geeves the main reason for getting service manual is that I have a 96 Isuzu MU with a leaky fuel pump so want to see what is involved in changing outer seals. I have heard from different diesel mechanics $1200 to fix with complete pump rebuild and another change outer seals at a cost of $100.

If the outer seal at the top of the pump is all that is needed then 100 could be right although sounds cheap. If its also leaking at the bottom as Harrys was then the whole pump has to come out and is a major to dismantal etc. Even with the quote you wont know for sure till they look closely. Fuel pumps are best left to the experts

I picked up this MU 3weeks ago from car sales yard so I wanted to get accurate quotes to fix and some knowledge and speak to car salesman to see if he will sort out repair. So far $350 to remove and refit fuel pump - $600 to rebuild pump.

Go to the dealer with top and bottom prices but point out that you expect a reasonable warrentee on the repair. That should encoarage him to not take the cheap way although its worth the gamble. I looked into mine when the first publicity started on low sulphur diesel and was told if its just top seal 150 if its full rebuild around 1200. It hasnt started leaking yet but its only a matter of time. Question is though on my 16 year old bighorn is it worth spending 1200 on the pump. I dont know what wreckers charge for pumps but theve all had the same low sulphur diesel and have been sitting so I wouldnt trust them except maybe as a exchange rebuild project
