Hello all,
Heres an interesting problem I need some help with. On saturday my mu (4jb1 t auto) blew a hose that ran from the thermostat to the heater at the back . It boiled, I let it cool down, filled it with water the drove the 5 mins home.
It was hot but running fine. I thought it might have been the head gasket so I tore everything off the top of the engine. I then found the rogue hose and replaced it today. Once I had put it all back together, I started it and it ran but it was rough. All 4 cyls though.
It would run ok at 1000rpm but given any more it would immediatley die . I didnt crack any injectors or diesel lines at any time. I thought it might be air, so I checked all the hoses etc, but to no avail. Now it wont even start. When it is turning over it starts to kick but wont actually start.
Any ideas why this thing wont go? Ive triple checked everything but somethings still wrong . Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Once you fix it replace all your hoses urgently There likly to be in the same condition. Is there any smoke or funny noises. Overheating can cause blown head gaskets. cracked heads, broken rings,or scored bores if your unlucky. A compression test will help eliminate these. Also remove the termostat housing and check for bubbles while cranking. It might also of started to sieze makeing the cam belt slip a tooth good luck. Ive had the same thing but luckily it was a cold winter night so apart from the tow truck home I was lucky
