$$$ latter after a engine recon (re archived - bit of rattle and smoke) the 3.1TD bighorn's turbo now has a obvious high pitched whine/scream on top of its normal lower pitched operating noise upon getting it back. Poked around the blower impeller and felt no movement and it spun around freely. Its still using running in oil, head to be tigthened at 800km with oil change etc. Does this indicate that something may have been damaged or maybe there is crap in the bearings. Also I had noticed when the head was off (fault finding stage) the mechanic had partly dismantled the turbo, looked like he had trouble getting it off as it was still attached to the head.
