I have a mystery leak under my air filter and behinde the bracket for the fuel filter, it is not fuel, but it is just under my diff breather it doesnt look like it is coming from this....i took the breather off and blew through it and no oil sprayed out. it is clear oil....i am pretty sure it is not the power steering, brakes or clutch as there has been no drop in any of the levels. the only thing i think it would be is the front diff....but i dont know why or how for that matter....if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

Only other thing around there is the sight glass on the air con but this is also unlikly. What does it feel and smell like? Also you havnt just had the car serviced? It might be a stray spilling

I believe there is a lubricant inside the air conditioning gas. Is your AC working OK???

Possible for diff oil to get up the breather yes but unlikly unless the diff is very overfull or your wagon has had a sleep on its back.(wheels on top). Im sure you would recognise the smell of diff oil its very strong. Only other thing that comes to mind is do you have a paper air filter or an oiled cotton or foam one?

Is the power sterr fluid darkish red or pink? A leak in the power steer pump could spray fluid around but also suck in air. Both times my pump has failed it didnt leak at the pump but instead caused the fluid to change into pink foam that overflowed from the resivoir

I believe it is the diff oil I have the same thing when parked outside work with left wheels in gutter just on a hot day seems to be enough to send it up the tube very strange had me stumped for weeks so remouved air filter box and sure enough it was the diff breather. opened filler bung out came about half a ltr oil this idoit here filled diff while on a jack so must have done the big overfill what a laugh.
hope this helps
