Havnt got the book handy but I always turn the engine till a tappet is right down then turn the crank one full revolution Then it must be all the way up. Its a little slower than the proper way as you turn the engine over a lot more times but it works with hot cams which the proper method isnt as good at. You also dont need to worry about sequence this way

Cheers Geeves, when you say hot cams,do you mean that you adjust when motor is at running temp?Its just that I read something on another thread that you should set when cold.Also just to clarify,from what I gather the correct gap is 0.04mm for both intake and exhaust.Is this correct? Cheers.

hot cams = boy racer cams ie oddball lift and duration. I was young a while ago Set them cold

Tappet clearance is 0.4mm,not 0.04.The book says do them cold. Harry.
